In December 2024, the Head of the Department of Normal and Pathological Animal Physiology, Professor Vasyl Kozii and Associate Professor of the Department of Parasitology and Pharmacology Nataliia Kozii had the opportunity to improve their skills in the laboratory of Dr. Karen Schwan-Lardner, Professor of the Department of Animal and Poultry Science, College of Agriculture and Bioresources, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon.
The College's faculty and researchers actively collaborate at the national and international levels. Education, technology transfer and information exchange are an important part of their work.
Dr. Schwan-Lardner's laboratory was of particular interest to our teachers, as it mainly conducts multidimensional research with productive animals, using behavioral and physiological indicators to study the impact of different housing methods on animal welfare and productivity. In particular, the department's scientists are studying the effectiveness of using different light regimes and methods of environmental enrichment on the health and productivity of poultry.
The strategic outcome of the internship will be ongoing cooperation between Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University, Ukraine and the University of Saskatchewan, Canada in the field of animal husbandry, applied research and education.
